2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Price Slashed Before First Deliveries

Before the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle (EV) has had a chance to roll into a customer’s garage, the automaker has announced excellent news for customers who have already reserved one and for prospective owners who are considering one.

Reportedly due to market changes and volatile pricing for EVs, Ford is discounting original prices and is instructing its dealers to pass the savings along. The discounts range from $1,000 for the base Mustang Mach-E Select with rear-wheel drive to $3,000 for the Premium trim level.

That brings electric Mustang prices down to $42,895 for the Select trim, not including the $1,100 destination fee. The California Route 1 version gets a $2,000 discount, with a starting price of $49,800, while the Premium receives a $3,000 discount and now wears a window sticker of $47,000. The high-performance Mustang Mach-E GT variant costs $60,500.

Mustang Mach-E range estimates begin at 230 miles for the Select and Premium, each equipped with a standard-range battery, a 255-horsepower electric motor, and rear-wheel drive. The California Route 1 includes a standard extended-range battery and 282-hp RWD or 332-hp all-wheel-drive configuration, plus a maximum range of about 300 miles. The Mach-E GT is estimated to get around 250 miles of range from its standard extended-range battery, but it offers 459 hp paired with standard AWD.

Production of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E begins soon at the company’s factory in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico. Ford expects to fill early reservations for the EV by the end of 2020, with the high-performance Mach-E GT arriving in mid-2021.
