2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line Specs Include Turbo Power, Manual Gearbox

After months of teasing, the 2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line sedan has officially been unwrapped. We covered its initial announcement back in May, but the only detail shared was a snapshot of a fully camouflaged prototype. That news was followed up last month with a full image of the vehicle — but in computer-rendered form. This time around, IRL photographs along with complete details of Hyundai’s latest N Line model have been released.

The new Elantra N Line sedan is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that has an output of up to 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. Note that this is the same engine fitted to both the since discontinued Elantra GT N Line hatchback and the outgoing Elantra Sport sedan. Enthusiasts can rejoice that the Elantra N Line comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission or an available 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). 

To match its peppy engine, the Elantra N Line comes with a stiffer suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, and larger front brake rotors. Paddle shifters for the DCT and a Drive Mode Selector system add to the performance feel. The interior also features enthusiast-inspired details like red contrast stitching, metal accents, leather inserts, and alloy pedals as well as a Hyundai N perforated-leather steering wheel and N sport seats with leather bolsters. 

Completing the package is an aggressive exterior style that evokes stocky yet sporty finesse. Hyundai’s signature cascading grille is given a distinctive sharpness and features an N Line badge. Equally angular lower fascia air curtains assist in aerodynamic performance. The Elantra sedan’s fastback design further tilts toward performance with N Line side skirts, an integrated rear spoiler, a single dual-tip chrome exhaust outlet, and an N Line rear diffuser panel. Gloss black accents in the wheel wells, outside mirrors, and side skirts add a touch of moody sophistication.

Safety is as paramount as performance and the Elantra N Line delivers on that level as well. Hyundai SmartSense driver-assistance technologies include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-centering assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, a driver attention monitoring system, and blind-spot warning with collision avoidance. 

Other convenience technologies for Elantra N Line owners include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity as well as a Hyundai Digital Key that allows you to unlock and start the car using your smartphone.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line sedan is scheduled to arrive in dealerships this fall and will join the soon-to-launch Sonata N Line and just-upgraded Veloster N as the newest members of Hyundai’s performance family. Pricing for the Elantra N Line should be available soon.
