2021 Volkswagen Arteon Price Overlaps Small Luxury Cars for Big Value

Liz Kim | Oct 20, 2020

Prices for the updated 2021 Volkswagen Arteon start at $36,995 for the base SE, $41,595 for the mid-level SEL R-Line, and $46,995 for the top-of-the-line SEL Premium R-Line. These 2021 Arteon prices do not include the $1,195 destination charge. All-wheel drive is optional for the SEL R-Line in exchange for $1,800.

While the Arteon SE's starting price is $1,000 more than the 2020 model's price, the SEL R-Line remains about the same, and the SEL Premium R-Line gets a discount of $700. The SEL trim level is no longer available.

A large car inside and out, the VW Arteon represents excellent value if you cross-shop it against small luxury cars that cost about the same amount of money. Plus, thanks to its 5-door sportback body style, it boasts incredible utility.

Volkswagen freshens the 2021 Arteon for the new model year. Highlights include revised styling, improved interior materials, and updated control and displays. All Arteons also feature a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone projection.

Added safety technology is available for the Arteon, including Travel Assist, a Level 2 driving assistance system with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. The top trim level's available goodies include 30-color LED ambient cabin lighting and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

Under the hood, the 2021 Arteon uses the same turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine as before, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive. You'll see the 2021 VW Arteon in showrooms starting this November.
