2022 Toyota RAV4 Changes are Few and Far Between
Toyota claims the RAV4 is America’s best-selling model for four years running, excluding full-size pickup truck models. That number includes both fleet sales to companies and government agencies, and retail sales to people like you and me. Regardless of how you parse the assertion, hundreds of thousands of new RAV4s hit U.S. roads every year.
Now, changes to the 2022 Toyota RAV4 can only serve to cement the crossover SUV’s popularity.
Blue paint colors are having a moment, and the 2022 RAV4, depending on the trim level, is now available in a non-metallic Calvary Blue color. Many trims also get new wheel finishes or designs, including a “smoky silver” for XLE trims and a matte-gray for the Adventure model. Many 2022 RAV4s also benefit from new LED headlights that Toyota says will offer improved capability, while higher trims receive new LED fog lights.
Inside, LED interior lighting is now standard, along with a locking glove box. Choose XLE trim or higher, and more of the interior switches have nighttime illumination, making them easier to use. The top-shelf Limited trim adds a new 8-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat.
Toyota also makes a sporty-looking version of the RAV4 Hybrid more accessible to price-conscious buyers. A new SE Hybrid trim debuts for 2022, complete with gloss black wheels, cloth seats, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and six stereo speakers.
Options for the new 2022 Toyota RAV4 SE Hybrid include a Weather package that adds a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and rain-sensing wipers with a wiper de-icer function. A Convenience package equips the SE Hybrid with a power sunroof, power rear liftgate, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display.
According to the automaker, 2022 Toyota RAV4 prices will be available in mid-December, around the time of the SUV’s release date.
