Land Rover has finalized changes to its 2021 model year lineup. In addition to introducing the smaller Defender 90, a refreshed Discovery, and a new Range Rover Fifty commemorative edition, the automaker is adding mild-hybrid technology to the Range Rover Velar’s engines and expanding its latest infotainment technology to more models.

The 5-passenger, midsize Range Rover Velar offers two new engines for 2021. Land Rover continues to make a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder standard in the Velar P250, and it makes 247 horsepower. New for 2021, the Velar P340 has a turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine delivering 335 hp and 354 lb.-ft. of torque. Exclusive to the top R-Dynamic HSE trim, a more powerful version of the mild-hybrid inline six cranks out 395 hp and 405 lb.-ft. of torque in Velar P400 specification.
Additionally, the Velar gets a new electrical architecture and Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment technology with dual 10-inch touchscreen displays and high-definition graphics. Highlights of Pivi Pro include over-the-air updates, fast system load time, and near instantaneous response to inputs.
Additional improvements to the Velar include a new wrist-worn second-generation Activity Key with an LCD watch, Active Road Noise Cancellation technology for a quieter cabin, and an Advanced Cabin Air Filtration system with a PM 2.5 filter.

The smallest of Land Rover’s four Range Rover models is the Evoque. Redesigned for 2020, the Evoque adds Pivi Pro infotainment as standard equipment. An Online Pack is available, installing wireless smartphone charging with a signal booster, Bluetooth pairing for two phones at the same time, and integrated access to Spotify.
Additionally, the 2021 Range Rover Evoque includes a 3D surround-view camera, while a rear collision warning system is a new option. An Advanced Cabin Air Filtration system is also newly available for the stylish little Evoque.

Updates for the Land Rover Discovery Sport, a compact SUV serving as the entry point for the brand, largely mirror those for the Evoque. However, the Discovery Sport does not offer the rear collision warning system. Instead, its standard equipment list expands to equip the SUV with a driver monitoring system, traffic sign recognition, and lane-keeping assistance.
