Lincoln Debuts Star Concept:One Of Three New Electric Vehicles For The Brand By 2025

Marking the centennial of Ford’s acquisition of Lincoln, the Lincoln Star Concept made its global debut last week. The sleek and futuristic esthetic of the Star Concept hints at the brand’s design language for its electric vehicles moving forward.

“This is a shining example of what happens when we combine Lincoln luxury with flexible electrical architecture to create unimaginable experiences for customers,” said Jim Farley, President and CEO of Ford Motor Company. “We can truly revolutionize how people engage with the brand and scale it across an exciting lineup of products that catapult Lincoln into the digital, connected age.”

The exterior design of the Star Concept speaks for itself, but the interior is equally intriguing. The cabin experience as a whole is uniquely partitioned into first and second-row areas yet remains premium for all occupants. Features include reclined lounge posture, extra-spacious wraparound seating, curated storage for devices and slippers, and individual lounge leg rests. The Star Concept has controls for rejuvenation and a modernized glass beverage chiller seamlessly built into the back seats.

The flexible battery-electric architecture and next-generation Lincoln Intelligence System, combined with the automakers’ rear- and all-wheel-drive, enable the new design thinking and connected experiences offered by the Star Concept. The adaptable architecture means both designers and engineers could reconceptualize the Star’s extra interior space in new and exciting ways.

“The Lincoln Star Concept has been a true labor of love for our team and provides us with a platform to share and test our experiences and design philosophy with clients as we evolve our Quiet Flight DNA,” said Kemal Curic, global design director, Lincoln. “Signifying transcendence through both space and time, the concept creates a sense of peace and serenity within an electric experience and previews what is to come from Lincoln.”

Lincoln plans to deliver three new fully electric vehicles by 2025, making more than half of its global volume consist of zero-emissions vehicles. The automaker also plans to add a fourth vehicle by the end of 2026.

“As Lincoln enters the next chapter in our transition to a zero-emissions future, the Lincoln Star Concept will lead the way for our portfolio of fully electric vehicles,” said Joy Falotico, President of Lincoln. “It is an excellent example of how we are redefining luxury for the next generation as we work to transform the vehicle into a third space – a true place of sanctuary – for our clients.”
