New GMC Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Truck Debuts

Christian Wardlaw | Nov 17, 2020

You may have noticed that off-road pickup trucks are all the rage. Therefore, it comes as no surprise whatsoever that a new version of the 2021 GMC Canyon midsize truck boasting improved off-roading capability will soon be available.

2021 GMC Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition

Based on the new-for-2021 GMC Canyon AT4, the AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition builds on what is already a capable vehicle. The Canyon AT4 comes with four-wheel drive, a rear locking differential, an advanced hill descent control system, an off-road suspension package, and 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac all-terrain tires.

To this, the new AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition supplies a 35% improvement to the truck’s approach angle, which measures nearly 30 degrees. GMC removed the Canyon’s front air dam to add this capability.

Additionally, the AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition has a suspension leveling kit, rocker panel protection, and aluminum skid plates measuring 5/32 of an inch thick. They cover the lower radiator, front differential, steering gear, and oil pan, joining the existing transfer case shield to protect the majority of the drivetrain components.

Aside from its missing front air dam, the Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition features red front tow hooks, 17-inch gloss black aluminum wheels in a design that is exclusive to this package, Carbon Black AT4 logos, a gloss black exhaust tip, and a cargo bed liner. Inside, upgraded floor liners keep mud, water, and other filth off of the carpeting.

GMC says you’ll be able to order the 2021 Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition before the end of the year. Pricing will available at that time.
