New Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate Takes Things to a New Level
The Range Rover is one of the most iconic and easily recognizable SUVs in the world. Land Rover offers several different models of the Range Rover in a wide variety of configurations, including a rowdy high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR variant with a supercharged V8 engine. Not one to pass up an opportunity for a special edition, Land Rover recently announced a new Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate Edition with several exclusive styling and design features that set it apart from the normal SVR.
Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations team houses the automaker’s SV Bespoke and SV Premium Palette operations, which allow buyers to custom-tailor vehicle finishes and handcrafted components. The Range Rover Sport SVR model is also in the group’s wheelhouse and features a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Land Rover says it’s strong enough to propel the hefty SUV to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 4.5 seconds and notes that it can go on to a top speed of 176 mph.
The Range Rover Sport SVR already carried styling features that differentiated it in the Land Rover lineup, but the Ultimate Edition takes things to another level. Three exclusive colors are available: Maya Blue Gloss, Marl Grey Gloss, and satin-finish Ligurian Black. The blue and grey colors feature glass flake base coats that Land Rover says gives them an “intense star-like sparkle.” The vehicle also gets a contrasting black roof, 22-inch wheels, and white trim-piece detail work. The hood, while made of carbon fiber, is painted to match the body color.
Stepping up from the SVR, the Ultimate Edition gets an Ebony and Cirrus-colored interior with SVR-embossed lightweight performance seats wrapped in Windsor leather. Inside, Ultimate Edition treadplates and black anodized metal gearshift paddles remind people that they are riding in a unique Range Rover. The interior should also carry standard features from the “standard” SVR model, including a 19-speaker Meridian sound system, tri-zone climate control, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate Edition is on sale now at Land Rover dealers. Its starting price lands at $142,950, which includes a $1,350 destination charge. That’s a significant step up from the regular 2022 Range Rover Sport SVR, which starts at $116,850 after destination.
