Toyota Launches All-New Battery-Electric SUV, The bZ4X
Toyota is looking to make an impact on the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) segment, launching the all-electric bZ4X SUV.
The bZ4X represents a new take on the multi-purpose vehicle. It’s a BEV that blends bold, modern styling with innovative tech features in a performance-driven package. Offered in two grades, XLE and Limited (in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive), the bZ4X offers drivers both versatility and impressive capability.
The bZ4X sports a dynamic character with its sleek profile, with lines that flow from front to rear. The vehicle’s axis is lowered closer to the tires, creating a synchronously flowing silhouette to pair with its long wheelbase.
Aesthetics aside, the design of the bZ4X remains functional, with a low hood height that provides enhanced forward driver visibility. A ducktail spoiler and lower diffusers create a striking appearance while improving aerodynamic performance.
Drivers with range anxiety need not fear, as there are many options for powering up bZ4X. These include 120V and 240V chargers as well as DC fast-chargers, and every bZ4X model comes equipped with a J1772/CCS1 (Combined Charging System (CCS) socket, allowing for both home and public charging. The bZ4X’s 6.6 kW onboard charger allows owners to charge from low to full in about 9 hours (with a Level 2 charger), with an EPA-estimated range rating of up to 252 miles (for XLE front-wheel-drive models).
Toyota is also giving new bZ4X owners an option to include a ChargePoint home charging system into the cost of their new vehicle purchase or lease. This add-on option offers customers the ability to purchase a ChargePoint® Home Flex Level 2 charger from participating Toyota dealerships.
The bZ4X will go on sale this Spring with a starting MSRP of $42,000.
