Volvo Safety Sunday Returns with Up to $2 Million in Free Cars

At 43 years of age, the legendary Tom Brady has led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Super Bowl LV, where he will attempt a seventh career Super Bowl victory, this time against the Kansas City Chiefs and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Volvo Safety Sunday

If that sounds like a game worth watching, you’ll want to tune in on February 7, 2021. And you’ll also want to cross your fingers for a safety call, especially if you’ve signed up to win a new car or SUV through this year’s “Volvo Safety Sunday: A Million More” campaign.

Safety and Volvo are synonymous, the automaker responsible for a long list of safety-related innovations over the decades. For example, Volvo invented the three-point seatbelt, credited with saving more than one million lives worldwide, according to the automaker.

Naturally, then, the “Volvo Safety Sunday: A Million More” campaign is associated with safety. In this case, if a safety is called on either Tampa Bay or Kansas City during Super Bowl Sunday, you could win a brand-new ride.

Just in case you’re not a football fan, but you like the idea of a free Volvo, you should know what a safety play is. If the offensive team is tackled, fumbles or loses the ball, or commits a penalty in their own end zone, referees will call a safety. The defensive team gets two points and possession of the ball through a free-kick.

Safety plays are rare, but they do happen. And if one occurs during Super Bowl LV, and you’ve signed up to win a new Volvo, you may find yourself one of the randomly selected contest winners to park one in your driveway.
