A smaller crossover vehicle to companion the MDX in the Acura line-up, the RDX debuted in 2007 as an all-new product. Entering the market as a five-passenger luxury compact crossover, the 2007 Acura RDX received an array of high-end features such as leather seating and automatic climate control as standard equipment. A turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine combined with a five-speed automatic transmission powered the 2007 Acura RDX. Motivated by 240 horsepower, the Acura crossover boasts fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon city and 23 miles per gallon highway. Originally equipped only with Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, a front-wheel drive version of the RDX was added for the 2010 model year. Completely redesigned for the 2013 model year, the Acura RDX received many changes in addition to the modernized exterior styling. The SH-AWD equipped Acura RDX was replaced with another form of all-wheel drive. In addition, the 2013 Acura RDX is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine delivering better fuel economy than the previous turbocharged four-cylinder. Besides the choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive, a Technology Package is offered as available on the 2014 RDX featuring an infotainment system with a 60-gigabyte hard drive.
