About Spark

Appearing in Asian and European markets as far back as 1998, the mini car Chevrolet Spark made its debut in the United States and Canada for the 2013 model year. At 144.68 inches in length, the Spark became the new smallest car in the Chevrolet line-up. Available only as a five-door hatchback in LS, 1LT and 2LT trim levels, four passengers can ride inside the 2013 Spark’s cabin. Inside the 2012 Spark, standard features include 10 airbags, power windows, OnStar and SiriusXM satellite radio. Available Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system delivered a seven-inch color touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming audio and voice recognition technology adds an advanced sense of enjoyment inside the compact cabin.

LT models of the Chevrolet Spark also included Siri Eyes Free allowing motorists to use the capacities of an Apple-brand mobile device through hands-free means. When the rear seat of the 2013 Spark was folded, up to 31.2 cubic-feet of cargo volume would be available. Powered by a compact 1.25-liter Ecotec engine, the four-cylinder powerplant generates 84 horsepower. Standard equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, an optional four-speed automatic gearbox choice is also provided on the 2013 Spark.

Electric power steering, four-wheel anti-lock braking system, 15-inch aluminum wheels and a rear spoiler is included on all trim levels of the Spark. For 2014, the previously offered geared automatic gearbox was replaced by a continuously variable transmission (CVT). With the CVT or manual gearbox, the 2014 Spark can travel an average distance of 34 miles on a gallon of gasoline. Automatic headlight control was also included on all 2014 Chevrolet Spark models. For 2015, the Spark mini car will add an upgraded OnStar with 4G LTE communication technology.
