Changes to the 2022 Hyundai Models

Hyundai is continuing to shift its strategy toward fast-selling SUVs (the lineup now boasts seven models of various sizes and powertrains) along with the electrification of its vehicles. For 2022, Hyundai debuts its all-new Ioniq 5Santa Cruz, and Tucson, while its sedans and hatchbacks see only minor changes.

The smallest, most affordable Hyundai, the Accent sedan, has no changes for 2022, save for a standard immobilizer.

2022 Hyundai Elantra Changes - Find the best Hyundai deals!

Hyundai debuts a new N Performance model for the 2022 model year with a rip-roaring 276-horsepower engine matched to an available 6-speed manual transmission for the Elantra compact sedan. Underpinning the car is a specially tuned sport suspension with a rear strut bar. You won’t mistake an N for a regular Elantra as it proudly features unique styling treatments and badging inside and out.

Otherwise, the Elantra is a carryover model from 2021.

Hyundai’s funky little Kona crossover receives a fairly comprehensive redesign for the 2022 model year, increasing 1.6 inches in length, changing its silhouette and creating more cargo and passenger space. It also sports new front and rear fascias along with a more sophisticated interior and technology. The base engine remains a 2.0-liter I4, but the Limited and N Line trim levels are motivated by a turbocharged 1.6-liter I4 that now makes 195 hp.

Meanwhile, the Kona N performance model increases its athletic credentials with a turbocharged 280-hp 2.0-liter I4 and plenty of performance upgrades.
