Top 5 Large Premium SUVs by Customer Satisfaction

Jack R. Nerad | Jul 22, 2020

Beginning early each new year, J.D. Power queries thousands of verified vehicle owners, asking them to describe how their vehicles perform for them. The information consumers provide, which relates to their first 90 days of ownership, is the basis for three studies that guide the auto industry on their progress in customer satisfaction. The annual Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study (APEAL) offers a very good indication of how owners feel about the vehicles they have recently purchased and are learning to live with.

As a key part of the study, owner-provided information about each model is analyzed to assemble an index that ranks every vehicle for which there is a sufficient sample size. In the APEAL Study the higher the index number the better the vehicle satisfies its owners' wants and needs.

In this article, the five highest rated 2020 large premium SUVs for customer satisfaction are identified and ranked according to information provided by consumers who own them. The models are listed with the most satisfying vehicle first, followed by the others in descending order. The average index score for the segment is 886.
